![]() ![]() I’d just like to mention how excited I am about the Fenty Beauty brand & what Rihanna & the team are doing. When I was in Dubai, I wanted to buy something & most of the medium – dark foundation shades were sold out. But even so, items are selling out for periods (until restock). So, you see how Rihanna didn’t come to play? By partnering with a HUGE conglomerate like LVMH, Fenty Beauty was able to launch with up to 2 years worth of stock. Kendo is a division of LVMH & are also responsible for creating the Kat Von D & Marc Jacobs beauty brands. Rihanna partnered with Kendo on Fenty Beauty & they are 50/50 partners. Then a few hours later when I realized nothing was sold out – i went back for more! I placed the 1st order very quickly with the items I knew I definitely would be able to use. This whole thing resulted in my placing 2 separate orders. I was so nervous, because I didn’t even know what I wanted at the time of everything going live. From the experiences I have had with Kylie Cosmetics & also KKW Beauty, I expected everything to sell out in minutes. I put my music on & got into the shopping zone. The launch happened around 9am SA time & I was in the office. The texture was thin, and it did seem to go from a “cream” in the tube to a more powder-like product once on the skin.Fenty Beauty launched on 8 September with so much HYPE. Some shades were very pigmented, others were medium and buildable, and a couple were sheerer.īrowse all of our Fenty Beauty Match Stix Shimmer Skinstick swatches. ![]() This is not uncommon with drier, cream-based formulas, but it's still a downside and an area that could be improved upon. They lasted between six and eight hours on me.Ī problem I had throughout just swatching each shade on my cheeks for photos was that whatever was exposed was a bit dry, more powdery to the touch, and I felt like I had to really warm the product up and/or swipe it back and forth on the back of my hand to refresh the texture. Most shades applied and blended out without lifting up foundation or pulling into pores (over bare skin), but the ones that did tended to have larger particles in them. They were fairly blendable with a few being more sparkly with less visible base color, which may not be for everyone, and others had a more pearl-like sheen that didn’t emphasize my skin’s natural texture. The texture was thin, and it did seem to go from a “cream” in the tube to a more powder-like product once on the skin. I found that applying to my fingertips worked better than direct application, as it enabled me greater control over coverage level as well as placement, and if you tend to apply over foundation, then this will help keep the Match Stix cleaner, too. ![]() The formula is supposed to be long-wearing with a “light-as-air,” “blendable” texture that “lives to be layered." They twist-up and are medium-sized with a domed edge. Worth nothing, the miniature Match Stix are not magnetic, whereas the full-sized ones click together for easy hunting in one’s bag (per the brand at launch). It includes a roll-up case that they can be stored in. and retails for $25.00 or $100.00 per ounce, which gives the set a total value of $120. of product, and a full-sized Match Stix contains 0.25 oz. Some shades were drier, sheerer, or harder to blend out, which was how the permanent range was for me as well.Įach Match Stix contains 0.10 oz. #FENTY MATCH STIX TRIO FULL#The formula was consistent with the permanent range–medium to full coverage, fairly blendable, a drier, more powder-like finish on the skin. The packaging for the set was similar to the Mattemoiselle 10/10 set (which I was able to get confirmation about those new shades will be added in the future) and not the limited edition, holiday sets, so here’s hoping they will be added in the future. I reached out to the brand multiple times trying to find out whether the new shades were going to be added to the permanent range in the future or if they were limited edition and exclusive to the set, but I wasn’t able to get an answer. Fenty Beauty Holiday 2018 Match Stix by the Dozen ($129.00 for 1.20 oz.) contains 12 miniature-sized Match Stix with five shades from the permanent line and seven new shades. ![]()
